Lymphedema Therapy

Lymphedema, lymphoedema, or lymphatic obstruction is a chronic (long-term) condition in which excess fluid collects in tissues causing edema (swelling). Lymphedema can be very debilitating and uncomfortable. This condition can affect almost anyone, but is common in patients receiving cancer treatment or those who have lymph nodes injured or removed during surgery.

Our Lymphedema Therapy program is designed to teach patients and family members how to manage the condition independently at home. After an initial assessment, our specially trained lymphedema therapist develops an individualized plan of care to help reduce fluid volume, increase range of motion, and teach self massage and bandaging techniques. Our program includes:

  • Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD)
  • Compression Garments
  • Patient Education
  • Exercise
